		<description><![CDATA[Johnson &#38; Johnson (JNJ) recently announced plans to acquire medical devices maker Micrus Endovascular Corp. (MEND), based in San Jose, California, for $480 million in cash or $23.40 per share for each of Micrus’ 20.5 million shares outstanding. The offer price represents a 5.5% premium over the closing price of Micrus’ shares on July 9. The boards of directors of both the companies have approved the deal, which now awaits shareholder and regulatory approval. The deal, which is scheduled to close in the second half of 2010, is expected to be breakeven to slightly dilutive to Johnson &#38; Johnson’s 2010 earnings per share. Revenues Surging On Feb 4 Micrus released quarterly results that showed a 24% increase in revenue, to a record high. Sales rose to %22.8 million. Net income came in at $3.3 million, up from a loss one year ago. Earnings per share were 20 cents, almost triple the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 7 cents.
