Telecommunications industry is witnessing consistent growth despite experiencing a sluggish U.S. economy. Most of the large national telecom service providers together with the regional prepaid telecom operators generated net subscriber addition in the third quarter of 2011. In the last couple of years, capital spending constraints among telecom operators due to severe recessionary conditions were the main hindrance to the industry’s growth. However, with the economic recovery in progress, albeit a slow pace, telecom service providers are gradually expanding their network coverage on the back of significant subscriber growth. The telecommunications industry is a major driver of global economic recovery. An unprecedented growth of high-speed mobile Internet traffic, particularly for wireless data and video, has transformed this industry into the most evolving, inventive and keenly contested industry. In addition, emergence

We maintain our Neutral recommendation on Brightpoint Inc. (CELL) following the ongoing consolidation trend in the U.S telecom industry. If the proposed acquisition of T-Mobile USA by AT&T (T) gets regulatory approval then we believe Brightpoint may lose one of its prime customers T-Mobile. Loss of T-mobile may significantly reduce both the top line and bottom line of the company. Logistic service is a high-margin business for Brightpoint and T-Mobile is a major customer of this segment. From a financial standpoint, gross margin and operating margin of Brightpoint still remain in the single digits. Under this scenario, we believe deletion of T-Mobile USA from the clientele will be a major blow to the company. The stock price of Brightpoint plunged 39% during the last four months after this news surfaced.

The Telecommunications Industry is identified as a major driver of the global economic recovery. Capital spending constraints among telecom operators due to severe recessionary conditions were the main hindrance to the growth of this industry. However, with the economic recovery in full swing, large telecom service providers are gradually expanding their network coverage on the back of significant subscriber growth. The telecommunications industry encompasses a lot of technology-related businesses.
We upgrade our recommendation for Brightpoint Inc. (CELL) to Outperform, following its fourth quarter of 2010 financial results, well above the Zacks Consensus Estimates. Significant growth of 3G smartphones throughout the world helped Brightpoint to manage a record-high mobile device in the reported quarter. Most importantly, almost 82% of devices are managed through the company’s high-margin Logistic Services. According to our view, business fundamentals of Brightpoint remain intriguing primarily due to growing global demand for 3G smartphones. We believe newly won distribution agreements together with effective debt and cost control strategies initiated in 2009 will pave the way for Brightpoint’s future earnings growth. We also believe that recent acquisition of Touchstone Wireless will be a long-term positive for Brightpoint. The company will offer innovative supply chain management system with product

Both the top-line and bottom-line easily exceeds the Zacks Consensus Estimate supported by excellent performance from newly entered distribution deals as well as effective debt and expenses management strategy initiated in 2009. As a result, in the aftermarket trade at NASDAQ, stock price of Brightpoint was up 42 cents (5.47%) to $8.10.
Once a year, the final weekend of March Madness (which almost always occurs in April) generates a pilgrimage of college basketball fans to a different designated location. This year, fans, students and alumni from Duke, West Virginia, Michigan State and Butler are already beginning to descend on Indianapolis, IN for this year’s Final Four. Indianapolis, better known for its annual Indy 500 race over Memorial Day weekend, will host the NCAA men’s basketball championship for the 6th time beginning this Saturday, with the final game held Monday evening. It is an appropriate locale for the event; Indiana is a state known for its charming small towns where a basketball hoop stands in nearly every other driveway. It is also the 14th largest city in the U.S., and as such boasts
