URS Corp. (URS) announced that G.UB.MK Constructors, a joint venture between URS, WorleyParsons and Williams Plant Services, has been selected by the Tennessee Valley Authority Board for award of a contract to perform maintenance and modifications services at TVA electric generation facilities.

The contract has a five-year base term and a total maximum value of $950 million to the joint venture over the base period.

The JV will serve at seven of TVA’s coal-fired power plants and all of its hydroelectric facilities, which are located primarily in Tennessee, Kentucky and Alabama.  Additional facilities covered by the contract are in North Carolina, Virginia and Mississippi.

The Washington Division, one of the operating divisions of URS Corp, has been constructing power-generating facilities for more than 100 years, for the nuclear, fossil fuels, hydroelectric, renewable and alternative energy markets.

From conceptual engineering through construction, start up and maintenance, it offers single-point management for grassroots, retrofit and expansion projects. It also develops new generation projects and retrofit existing fossil-fired units with air-quality-control systems.
